typography takes the forefront in each cover, using each typeface in a way that feels intrinsic to its nature. the faces come together to create clear compositions, flowing through the space and dynamically interacting with edges. as the highlights of a 50-composition project, the selected covers represent these concepts to the fullest extent.

“parasite”

poster and animation

both media combine to represent these boundaries through the usage of glitches and starkly contrasting colors, showing a physical representation of the gradual fragmentation of society that bong presents.

“parasite” by bong joon ho tells the story of the blurring of two separate realities, the infection of the unseen into a picture-perfect world.

“the hunger games”

book cover

“the hunger games” by suzanne collins details an authentic dystopian experience, describing the journey of a girl (katniss everdeen) subject to an unyielding dictatorship, both experiencing a life of poverty and the excess and lavish associated with a ruling state.

the streamlined layout mimics everdeen’s life in a place where surplus does not exist, instead focusing on delivering the bare minimum of information with intentional symbolism as is done within the book’s content.
